A large, bold, blue-and-brown banded tree frog that's active and relatively hardy. It needs a tall, humid enclosure.

Arboreal — vertical height first. An adult amazon milk frog should live in at least 18" L × 18" W × 24" H; we build toward 24" L × 18" W × 36" H (2 × 1.5 × 3 ft, roughly 3 sq ft of floor and about a 67-gallon glass equivalent).

Height is the priority; a pair fits an 18×18×24.

Lighting and UVB

UVB: Low UVB (2–5%) is beneficial. Run lights on a 12 hours on, 12 hours off photoperiod, on a timer, and replace UVB bulbs on the manufacturer's schedule even while they still emit visible light.

Target 60–80%. Mist once or twice a day and provide a large water dish.

Substrate and depth

Bioactive mix or coco fiber with leaf litter. Depth: 2–3 in.
