A useful feeding log records the outcome
Recovery Reptiles is reptile collection-management software for keepers and breeders. It tracks feeding, weights, sheds, cleaning, breeding, genetics, clutches, and lineage.
Record the date, food offered, amount and whether it was accepted or refused. Compare these events with weights, sheds and husbandry conditions rather than judging an animal from one missed meal.
Batch the routine; keep exceptions individual
Use a rack pass for normal care and untick animals needing a different entry. Keep refusals and unusual observations in the animal's history. Reminders support a schedule but do not replace species-specific care decisions.
Prey-size guidance is a starting point
The calculator below reuses the existing feeder tool. Enter species and current weight to estimate a target meal range and matching feeder stage. Adjust for age, body condition and veterinary advice; a calculator is not a diagnosis. The tool keeps its existing free-run and account rules.
Questions keepers ask
- Can meal size alone decide a feeding schedule?
- No. Age, species, body condition, temperature, breeding status and health all affect appropriate feeding. Use the estimate as guidance and seek an experienced reptile veterinarian for concerns.
- Is Recovery Reptiles free?
- Basic is free for 3 reptiles or amphibians plus 6 invertebrates or colonies. Keeper is $4.99/month for 25 reptiles or amphibians. Breeder is $10.99/month for unlimited animals and breeding tools. Facility 10 and 20 add 10 or 20 people at $15.99 and $20.99/month. Feeder colonies never count against reptile limits.
- Can I bring in spreadsheet records?
- You can import animal records from a CSV or spreadsheet export, including supported species, sex, morph, weight and identifier fields. Check the preview before importing. This is not a promise to transfer every historical event from another app.
- Can I keep a copy of my data?
- Every plan can export collection data as JSON from Account. Keep an independent backup before changing apps.
